We started out at the Abbey Theatre, but a large number of English rugby fans prevented us from having a peaceful discussion of the liturgy. So we repaired to the Black Duke (or Bleck Duck, as the bouncer called it) on Via della Maddalena. A big 'thank you' to Father Z. for all his work!

On the way, Father took photos of plaques set into the sides of buildings in the area, many dating from the 17th century, ordering local residents not to heave their rubbish out the window into the street. "Fourteen years in Rome, " Father sighed, "and I'm taking pictures of garbage signs."
